This index has links to the SoundShaper Reference Manual in GO\DOCS\
and to the Sound Loom Reference Manual (usually) in C:\CDPR4\HTML.
These links can be altered by editing this document (ccdpndex.htm) with a text editor.

Note:  To return to the local and master indices, using 'Back' on your Browser will often be sufficient.

However, if you have moved around various hyperlinks within a file, it might be easier to use one of the direct links provided to move back to the top of that file or to the CDP main index (this file).

Normally return with BACK; the hardwired link goes to C:\CDPR4\HTML\

Special Note:  The parameter names in the CDP HTML Reference Documentation follow the Command Line usage, as the most general case. The SoundShaper GUI mostly follows these names, while the Sound Loom GUI often expresses the parameter name in a fuller, more descriptive manner. It should be clear which parameter is being referenced in each case.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:

The Composers' Desktop Project (CDP) was originally conceived and launched in 1986 in York, England by Martin Atkins, Andrew Bentley, Archer Endrich, David Malham, Richard Orton, and Trevor Wishart. It was the first organisation to port serious sound processing software onto desktop computers, and to operate as a cooperative network, sharing both the use and development of music software tools. Archer Endrich has been the Adminstrator & Coordinator of the Project since its inception. Many people have subsequently contributed to its development.

The core soundfiling system was the work of computer scientist, Martin Atkins. The majority of the CDP Sound Processing software tools were developed by Trevor Wishart , including many original contributions in the field of sound transformation software. He continues to maintain them. Some important public domain sources (especially PVOC from CARL and the core filter algorithms) have been used and developed inside the system.

Some earlier program contributions have been revised and extended by Trevor, and there has been additional system-level input, maintenance & development over the years by Martin Atkins and Richard Dobson. Richard is currently our main system programmer and developer.

There have been many contributors to various aspects of the System. For a more detailed listing, see A 'Groucho' History. Trevor has also written the Sound Loom GUI, Robert Fraser has written the SoundShaper GUI, and Richard Dobson has written the BRKEDIT graphic editing program and created the graphic interface for GrainMill. The MIDI/algorithmic program Tabula Vigilans was written by Richard Orton. The Reference Documentation has been written by Archer Endrich, with technical assistance from Trevor Wishart and Richard Dobson.

Copyright and Intellectual Property Rights for the software and documentation are retained by CDP and the authors.

Financial assistance has been given to the Project by the Arts Council of England, the Esmée Fairbairn Charitable Trust, and the Sonic Arts Network. This help towards our cooperative endeavour is gratefully acknowledged. Arts
