Mr Al-Khapoun's Christmas Quiz

Mr Al-Khapoun's Christmas Quiz consisted of a list of ten or a dozen quotations taken from English and other literature, which people who knew me were invited to identify. It appeared, usually, in early December and the answers were revealed in the middle of January, or a bit later. Sometimes some clues were given in early January and sometimes not, but clues have since been added where they were missing. There were no prizes. I produced it for public consumption from 1988 (it first appeared two or three years before that in letters from me to the late Dr Peter Hall of Tuscaloosa, Alabama) to 2009. In 2010 I was unable to produce it and nobody seemed to mind much; but in any case the internet has rather taken away the point of it.
