Old or new? A second foliate head, this time inside the church on the nave roof, carved on a boss above the chancel step. But is it old or new, mediaeval or Victorian? My guess is that it also dates from Ponting's restoration of 1892: something in the style suggests that. The eyes are heavy-lidded and the lips and teeth rather modern-looking. Also at Chiseldon
