A regal lion

Our fourth foliage-spewer is another beast-head, but definitely lion-like with a curling mane.  He can be found on the north corner of the chancel, and like all four of the green men on this church, dates from its building in 1856, from a design by Mr Gabriel of Bristol.

Also at Bowden Hill

  • Three more green men
  • Sir William Sharington's conduit house opposite the church
  • A very fine viewpoint over Lacock and the valley
