of an international shipping company in Istanbul dealing with

involved daily management of cargo ships, crewing, dry-docking,
engine and hull repairs, chartering, and legal matters.
- Consultant to Ministry of Defence, British Technology Group
(BTG), GEC, Howden Compressors, British Rail, and various local
companies during the period between 1983 and 1989. I also ran
a consultancy company (B&S Consultancy) in partnership with
Prof Burrows until I returned to Turkey in October 1988.
