Manufacturing: Metal forming, modelling of manufacturing processes; geometric modelling, virtual reality in manufacturing simulation, feature recognition; computer-aided process planning and assembly, operation and control of manufacturing systems, expert systems; tool control, set-up reduction, cost estimating.

Design: Information systems for designers, automatic component selection, modelling and optimization of assemblies, multi-media systems, knowledge-based systems, costing methodologies, design information classification.
