New Frontiers in Science Exhibition

The Virtual Manufacturing Project from the University of Bath was one of 18 exhibits at The Royal Society's New Frontiers in Science Exhibition, 21-22nd June 1995. The exhibition was open to the public during the day and presented to invited guests during the evening.

We set up our SGI Onyx and CrystalEyes stereo spectacles so that visitors could design objects in the Virtual Workshop. We also took a real desktop milling machine (kindly loaned to us by Roland UK Ltd.) which was connected directly to the computer so that the finished designs could be manufactured for real at the press of a button ... personalised souvenirs.
