Research interests
My research interests are in mainly in area of radio science applied to
radio propagation and remote sensing:
-
Atmospheric radar (weather radars) and radiometer technology
-
Active and passive remote sensing techniques (e.g., signals
of opportunity for atmospheric science)
-
Radio propagation modelling and prediction 1-100GHz (e.g., parabolic
equation modelling, rain scattering, scattering from vegetation, indoor/urban ray-tracing)
-
Passive radar (in collaboration with University
of Adelaide)
- Bistatic
and multistatic netted radar (especially at millimetre-wave
frequencies)
-
CIRCE mission: L1/L2/L5 GPS receiver science payload:
TOPCAT II
- Global
Navigation Satellite System technology (e.g., GAARDIAN,
SENTINEL, AJR, tropospheric delay modelling, GNSS jamming and
jammer location hardware development)
-
Compact Rb & Cs vapour atomic clocks: low noise, high precision analogue design, RF synthesizer design
-
RF engineering: low phase-noise frequency synthesizer design, software defined radio (SDR), antenna design
-
ESA Phase 0 study: ROARS, GNSS science receiver
