PCM play and record is fine via internal soundcard
   usb-audio play and record OK.

Power management does not appear to be supported.

Sony does not appear to provide technical info for linux developers.

Playing CDs does not work via mixer (is CD audio out connected to sound card ?)
It can be made to work using xmms and the XMMS-cdread (VERSION 0.14)  plugin
