October 2017: New paper on polaron dynamics in Physical Review Materials

Marie Anderson has recently published a paper in Physical Review Materials showing how polarons in doped conjugated polymers can be displaced by vibrational modes. The work is the result of an international collaboration with several academic and industrial laboratories and the EXTMOS project.

Congratulations to Charles Sayers who has won the best poster prize at the workshop Electronic structure of 2D materials: theory meets experiment organized at the Diamond light source.

March 2017: New Book Review in Angewandte Chemie

Together with Prof. Elizabeth von Hauff (VU Amsterdam) we have published a book review in Agewandte Chemie. The paper gives an account of the recent two-volumes book WSPC Reference on Organic Electronics: Organic Semiconductors by J.-L. Bredas and S. Marder.

In collaboration with the group of Dr. Alberto Girlando (University of Parma) have recently published a paper on Neutral to Ionic Transition in charge-transfer crystals.

October 2016: Joshua MacDonald joins the group as PhD student

Joshua MacDonald who recently graduated in Physics from Bath joins the group as PhD student within the EPSRC Centre for Doctral Training in Sustainable Pohotovoltaics.

June 2016: two new PhD students join the group

Charles Sayers and Nicola Bannister join the group as PhD students. They will work on different aspects of organic optoelectronics.

May 2016: New publication in Nature Communications

In collaboration with the group of Dr. Simon Hall at Univ. of Bristol and within a GW4 grant, we have recently published a paper in Nature Communication on how magnetic fields can influence the growth of coronene single crystal polymorphs.

March 2016: Success in research funding

We have been awarded a Research Grant from the Royal Society. The award will help in establishing our laser lab facilities.

March 2015: New publication in Nature Communications

Read about our work on the vibrational spectroscopy of doped conjugated copolymers recently published in Nature Communications! Daniele Di Nuzzo and Claudio Fontanesi in collaboration with scientists from Amsterdam, Wuppertal and Paderborn unravel the role of geometrical disorder on the doping efficiency of small molecules in conjugated polymers.

June 2014: Symposium on 2D Materials for Optoelectronics

Together with Prof. Maurice Skolnick (Univ. of Sheffield) and Prof. Geoff Nash (Univ. of Exeter), Enrico Da Como is organizing an international symposium on 2D matetrials for Optoelectronics, Plasmonics and Photonics. The event, which will bring together top researchers from around the world working on graphene and metal chalcogenides, will take place in the Lake District in September 2014. The event is within the series of workshops promoted by the Rank Prize Foundation.
