Optical properties of Graphene

We investigate the optical properties of graphene and few layer graphene using
Advanced femtosecond spectroscopy in the near and middle infrared.
By performing experiments on single flakes we can estimate the carrier cooling
time of hot Dirac Fermions (1). Recently, we have observed photoinduced intersubband
transitions in few layer graphene flakes, highlighting the potential of
graphene as a material platform for infrared optoelectronics (2).

We are currently investigating other non linear optical properties opening applications in ultrafast photonics.
