Niamh Leaman

Niamh graduated from the University of Bath in 2019 with a Masters degree in Chemistry. The third year of her degree was spent on placement at Imerys, in Cornwall, where she worked on improving the opacity of paints without the use of titanium dioxide. In her fourth year, she undertook a research project in the Edler group investigating the synthesis of nanoparticles in deep eutectic solvents. The aim of her PhD research is to investigate the application of polysaccharides as sustainable rheology modifiers for use in home and personal care products, in collaboration with Unilever. Niamh is a member of the Centre for Sustainable and Circular Technologies and is co-supervised by Antoine Buchard and Janet Scott.

In her spare time Niamh enjoys reading, embroidery and building up her ridiculous house plant collection.
