Adrian Sanchez Fernandez

Adrian love to shoot some hoops

Originally from Galicia (not Spain), Adrian decided that beautiful weather and mid-afternoon naps were too much hard work. So following an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Santiago de Compostela he moved to Bath and join the ERG to study self assembly in Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES). Adrian is probably the most ‘well travelled’ group member having conducted approximately 1142 experiments at large central facilities, including ANSTO (Sydney, Australia)

Adrian completed his PhD as part of a collaborative project supervised by Prof. Karen Edler, Dr Andrew Jackson, and Dr Tom Arnold (Both ESS)).

Since finishing in Bath Adrian has moved on to a postdoctoral position in Lund, Sweden where he continues to spend most of his time at scattering facilities, but now studying protein-surfactant interactions.

Outside of the lab Adrian enjoys spending time traveling to Portugal to purchase quality towels and hard wood furniture.
