BMC/BAMC 2010 Special Session:

Algebraic Geometry

The British Mathematics Colloquium (BMC) and the British Applied Mathematics Colloquium (BAMC) meet jointly in Edinburgh from Tuesday April 6th to Friday April 9th at the Joint BMC/BAMC Meeting.

During the meeting there will be a Special Session on Algebraic Geometry:

  • Monday 5th April (in Glasgow)

10.00am-5.30pm Calf meeting for postgraduate stuents, see here.

  • Tuesday 6th April

The discrete content of Cox rings (abstract)

3.00pm Tom Bridgeland (University of Sheffield):
Hall algebras and curve-counting invariants (abstract)

  • Wednesday 7th April

3.00pm Tom Coates (Imperial College London):
Gromov--Witten Invariants and Modular Forms (abstract)

Several morning talks will be of interest including those by Dorothy Buck (Imperial), Mark Haskins (Imperial), Diane Maclagan (Warwick) and Toby Stafford (Manachester).

Our session will double as a special meeting of the EGA seminar and, as such, there may be (admittedly limited) financial support from the LMS.
